Date night with Kodaline

On Tuesday (a school night, no less!!), [before I got struck down with the insane stomach bug of 2017] Phil and I had a date night in south London.

We started at our favourite spot, a bar in Balham serving top notch Thai food. Phil had had a large lunch so wasn’t too hungry, and I must have been in the beginnings of my stomach bug, because I wasn’t too hungry either. We ordered a few starters to share and a couple of pints and cozied in from the brisk December weather.

Thai food – duck spring rolls, hot & sour prawn soup, prawn pops and crackers with lots of sweet chilli sauce.

I couldn’t finish my pint, which really should have been a sign, so Phil did and ordered himself another before we hit the road to Brixton to see Kodaline.

I have to admit, Kodaline are a new band for me – I’m always behind the crowd – but now I love them SO MUCH. I’ve been a long standing Snow Patrol fan from forever ago. I see similarities in the music by both bands. I even mentioned to Phil while we were standing in the crowd waiting for the band to come out that I was sad I’d not yet seen Snow Patrol live (still on my list to do), but THEN, Johnny McDaid (from Snow Patrol) joined Kodaline on stage for a song he co-wrote with them!!! It was a dream come true.
